Staff Team Building Day

Date Published: 30/07/21

The weather was as incredible as our school staff this year as we held our Summer Team Building day at Plas Y   Brenin. Our theme was “Let’s Hope it Floats” and everyone took part in a range of activities and challenges carefully designed and delivered by our amazing External Leadership team.

A host of valuable skills were gained and practised such as working together, map reading and communication all taking place in an incredible environment which inspired some amazing activities and tasks. Working both as individuals and in teams, determination was in the air and everyone worked hard to complete tasks and win others…..always (or mostly!) friendly competition of course!

It was a great chance to get to know each other beyond the classroom, which was especially valuable for the new members of our team. Staff reflected on the day and their feed-back is amazing! Take a look…..

Lovely walk through the lush forest with stunning views and scintillating conversation (in our group anyway!) We should be put in the ‘kindness book’ for helping another team get back on track, as their map reading skills needing some honing. We also shared some helpful hints with other teams as they passed us.

We all worked well as a team and supported each other to overcome lots of challenges….. shout out to Tracy who valiantly fought her way to the top of the hill!

We used the natural environment to design a range of games. The afternoon was spent in the water…..this was interrupted a bit as staff relaxed and enjoyed acting like kids again. The team had a fantastic day and all left with a smile and plenty of midgie bites!

The event was great fun and we would like to say a huge thank you to Nicky and Wardie for planning such a great day out for us all and to Maya and Shaz for a wonderful lunch.
